David Wood is Managing Director of Plansafe Solutions Ltd. Alongside his role of managing the company he is the company’s registered Expert Witness in Health and Safety, taking instruction from solicitors both sides of the English/Scottish border extending from Aberdeenshire to Kent.

Coming from a background in practical agriculture David joined the Health and Safety Executive in 1976 as an. Agricultural Inspector in the South West of Scotland, one of the first intake to the newly formed HSE.

David’s interests are shooting, fishing, walking, gardening and music, for which he has a wide and varied taste.

Matthew joined Plansafe in 1997, made a Director in 2001 and is a Registered Member of the Association for Project Safety and a Graduate Member of IOSH. His principal role is assisting clients with creating or reviewing H&S Management Systems including site inspections.

Matthew assists clients and contractors on CDM matters for both new build and refurbishment projects of values up to £25m.

Matthew enjoys hill walking and mountaineering in his spare time as well as occasionally pursuing more extreme activities including rock and ice climbing. He also enjoys more sedate activities such as traveling and reading.

Sam has experience in a range of engineering disciplines having worked for many years in the aircraft simulation industry. Previous companies include BAE Systems, Boeing Aircraft and British Airways. As an Engineer Surveyor, Sam had most recently been employed with Bureau Veritas, furthering his knowledge of statutory examinations, with a strong emphasis on the relevant legislation.

Sam joined the plansafe team in 2013 and finds his work to be both satisfying and rewarding, finding Plansafe to be a friendly company who take the interests of their clients very seriously, whilst still having the resources required to provide a personal service tailored to the client's individual requirements.

Martin is Lead Asbestos Surveyor of Plansafe Solutions Ltd and has been with the company since July 2019; he is an extremely competent Asbestos Surveyor and has a clear understanding of the risks to health associated with asbestos. He also has an in-depth knowledge of the legislation surrounding the management and control of asbestos fibre.

Martin trained as an Asbestos Surveyor and graduated to the role of Contracts Manager in the asbestos removal industry prior to joining Plansafe. He quickly adapted to working within a UKAS accredited inspection body. Martin is also Plansafe’s principal UKATA certificated Asbestos Trainer.

Martin enjoys playing football in the local Dumfries Amateur Football League and spending time with his family.
